Scammers continue to target Apple customers via fake Apple Store invoice emails. These counterfeit invoices are usually pretty convincing, but there are clues that indicate it’s not authentic. But, once the recipients click on the link in the fake email invoices, they will be taken to a phishing website that steals personal, financial, and Apple credentials (usernames and passwords).
However the fake invoice is a clever ploy to scare people into clicking the prominent Cancel and Manage Subscriptions link at the foot of the email. Therefore, Apple customers who have received email invoices appearing as if they were sent from Apple, should avoid clicking on the links in them.
But the purchases listed on these invoices are not real. A widespread and sneaky phishing campaign is underway that pretends to be a purchase confirmation from the Apple App store. Genuine purchase receipts—from purchases in the App Store, iTunes Store, iBooks Store, or Apple Music—include your current billing address, which scammers are unlikely to have. 12.
